Do you remember the Braves miraculous rally in the bottom of the 9th of 1992 NLCS Game 7? With two outs and the bases loaded, Sid Bream scored from 2nd on Francisco Cabrera’s single to left. “Safe! Braves Win, Braves Win, Braves Win!” proclaimed Skip Caray in one of the most dramatic finishes in Major League history. The 400 Fan Club remembers. We’ve been celebrating “Sid Slid” every year since then!

The Atlanta 400 Baseball Fan Club is thrilled to announce that Sid Bream will be flying in from Pittsburgh to join us in person for this year’s Sid Slid event! We have made special arrangements with Georgia State to use the home plate area of what was formerly Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium (Green Parking Lot) for this year’s celebration. The 400 Fan Club will provide lunch from Fox Bros.

This event is open to 400 Fan Club members and their guests. The cost for each registrant will be $20 to cover the cost of lunch and other expenses used to make this a special celebration. Register online below using PayPal. The deadline for registration is Tuesday, October 11, at high noon. Sorry, registration for this event has closed.

Special Instructions:

• The event will be held in the footprint of old Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium at home plate in what used to be the Green Lot. Use the entrance to the lot on Pollard Ave, then drive across the GSU parking lot to the home plate area. If you are using GPS, enter the address: 640 Pollard Blvd SW, Atlanta, GA 30312 (or see Google Map link at the bottom of this screen).
• For your comfort, please remember to bring a lawn or folding chair. We will have a few extra chairs, but not enough to go around.
• The Fan Club will serve a barbeque buffet around noon.
• We will also take a group photo, have our usual anniversary cake, listen to Skip Caray’s call of Sid’s slide, and reminisce with Sid. Keep in mind that Sid needs to leave promptly at 1:00 for the airport.
• Sid will pose for photos. If you would like to ask Sid for an autograph, please limit your request to only one signature. Thanks for your cooperation!
