Hometown Hero Brian McCann Retires

October 10, 2019

Braves fans will miss Brian McCann, who graduated from Duluth High School in 2002 where he was a two-time 400 Fan Club High School All-Star.  He was drafted in the 2nd Round of the 2002 MLB Draft by the Braves and played nine stellar years (2005-2013), before moving on to the Yankees and later the Astros.  This year he came back to play his final season with his hometown Braves and helped lead the team to the NL East Division title.

A seven-time All-Star at catcher, Brian had 282 career home runs and 1,018 RBIs.  Beyond the impressive numbers from his 15 year Major League career, B-Mac will be remembered for his veteran leadership and character both on and off the field.  Best of luck to you, Brian.
