The Big Day finally arrived! Many of the sellout crowd of 41,149 came early to discover what the Braves splendid new ballpark and The Battery Atlanta has to offer. Fans were not disappointed. The spirited pre-game ceremony included the unveiling of the Braves retired numbers, Hank Aaron tossing out the first ball, and a ceremonial flyover. Julio Teheran threw the first pitch at SunTrust Park at 7:53 pm and got the win, Ender Inciarte had the first hit and later the first home run, and Jim Johnson recorded the first save, as the Braves celebrated their new home with a 5-2 win over the San Diego Padres. Congratulations to our Braves!
